Vanuit Den Haag ijveren advocaten voor innovatie van de juridische wereld. Verrassend genoeg is Kenia hierin een voorloper. Via sms, smartphones en Twitter wordt door het hele land een netwerk gebouwd van apps en juridische vrijwilligers. Dear Addis Abebians,
On January 11th (7.30 - 9.30 PM) we will organize the first Backlight Meet Up of 2017, as always in Wims Holland House close to La Gare. This time, we will see a documentary about Kenya, Technology and Justice. Specifically, the documentary is about the access of ordinary Kenyans to legal advice through mobile internet services, without the costs of a private lawyer.
Our guest speaker for the evening is Mr. Kibreab Abera, an Ethiopian lawyer and country director for Transparency International, an organization that fights against corruption worldwide. He will present on his work for Transparency International and reflect on the documentary; can such technology also work for Ethiopia? And what about countries in the West?
