Nu weer aardig om te zien, maar in die dagen geen bijzondere film naar het toneelstuk van Shakespeare. In 1967 opnieuw verfilmd met Elizabeth Taylor en Richard Burton. MGM's musicalversie KISS ME KATE bracht Howard Keel en Kathryn Grayson in de hoofdrollen.
